My book covers a period of 55 years of my life in the USSR prior to my immigration to the USA in 1979. It covers my military service during World War Two, which ended in Germany. I am a witness of lawlessness by Soviet Army officers in regard to lower ranks; criminal treatment of soldiers, both healthy and sick; humiliating status of women in the military, predisposing barbaric treatment of female civilians in occupied Germany; rampant army anti-Semitism; anti-Semitism among my fellow citizens - willing Nazi collaborators in the murder of Jews. My despising of Soviet reality since childhood is the cause that I had to pass through five medical schools with obligation to work in remote parts of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in order to obtain my physician’s diploma. Inadmissibility that transformed into hatred of the country with such social order, awaken my desire to emigrate at first opportunity. I have no desire to financially benefit from this book.
